who lived by the river.
Riding that bike,
back and forth in rain and cold.

She spent her days alone,
weeping for all and one.
Her tears smeared the pages of her book,
and on myself as I beg to help.

I pleaded like a desperate school boy,
for her voice to confirm or deny.
She does neither, shaking her head,
and pushes my first-aid kit away.

You tell me "It's ok"
"I'm fine."
We shrug it off and talk,
but I can't help but wonder.

I wanna know,

I'll let your thoughts run free,

I can make you feel better,
just talk to me, I'm always here for you.
Don't do this,
don't head for that damned drawer.

I have no idea what you've been through,
it could be bullies, abuse, self-harm.
I could judge you but I'm not going to.
It's your life and it's not right for me to.

Don't turn your head away,

you is smart, you is kind, you is important.

You are perfect and don't let anyone tell you otherwise,
don't believe the hate you receive because it's not true.
But, reject the biggest enemy,

Other girls are superficial with their problems letting the world eat them alive.
Blowdrying their hair and blowing with artificial nails.
You're the best. Weird, funny, gorgeous.
It hurts to be pretty.

We can take the world,
